How Long Does the Divemaster Course Take?
The Divemaster course usually takes several weeks. The exact time depends on your experience, how many logged dives you already have, and how much time you can dedicate each week.
Unlike recreational courses, Divemaster training is not rushed. You need time to practise skills, assist with real students and develop the judgement expected of a dive professional.
What Affects the Duration?
- Starting dive count: if you begin with 40 dives, you will need to log 20 more before you certify.
- Your availability: full-time candidates finish faster than part-time ones.
- Skill level: strong water skills and demonstrations save time.
- Course schedule: practical assignments depend on real student courses and trips.
